Our Partners
AgriSagana is a flagship agricultural development initiative that empowers smallholder corn farmers and cooperatives across the corn-producing regions of the Philippines. By addressing the root causes of low productivity, post-harvest inefficiency, and limited market access, the program works toward a more resilient and competitive corn supply chain — improving farmer livelihoods and building long-term sustainability within the sector.
What Are We Solving
Low Productivity Among Smallholder Farmers
Farmers and cooperatives lack access to good agricultural practices, limiting their yield potential and overall standard of living.
Outdated and Inefficient Post-Harvest Infrastructure
Existing post-harvest facilities are unable to support a sustainable and environmentally-sound corn supply chain.
Limited Access to Institutional Markets
Farmers are unable to meet the crop quality requirements needed to access and compete in institutional markets.
The Need
While corn is a primary staple, agricultural communities are often hindered by consistently low-quality yields and significant post-harvest losses that make produce unfit for premium markets. This issue is compounded by a systemic lack of support: local cooperatives frequently do not have the technical or business capabilities required to assist farmers in improving crop quality or managing complex logistics. Without the capacity to aggregate harvest effectively or meet strict compliance standards, these cooperatives cannot create the necessary market linkages to institutional buyers. This leaves farmers economically stranded, unable to transition from subsistence to a sustainable, market-aligned livelihood.
The Intervention
AgriSagana is an end-to-end supply chain transformation model designed to professionalize the agricultural sector. We bridge the productivity gap by training thousands of farmers in modern and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) while simultaneously strengthening their cooperatives through intensive financial and business management mentoring.
To stabilize crop quality, the program introduces Eco-Smart Hubs – shared grains dryer facilities equipped with solar panels. This integration of renewable energy ensures that post-harvest processing remains resilient and uninterrupted, even during power outages or periods of bad weather. By establishing formal procurement deals with institutional buyers, we move smallholders from the margins into the center of a resilient, market-ready agricultural system.
