The Need

Baguio City and Clark, Pampanga are two of the Philippines’ most recognized urban centers — yet in the communities within and around them, many families still struggle with unreliable access to clean water, inadequate sanitation, and limited food security. Where water systems are absent and hygiene education is scarce, waterborne diseases thrive — and the burden falls heaviest on children and youth whose health and futures are shaped by the conditions they grow up in. Without sustainable infrastructure and the knowledge to maintain it, vulnerability becomes a cycle that’s hard to break.

The Intervention

The Building Stronger Communities 2025 integrates water infrastructure, food security, and community health education into one interconnected approach. It installs rainwater harvesting systems to bring clean water closer to households in need, establishes community gardens through the “1, 2, 3 Grow!” initiative to put fresh food production directly in the hands of residents, and builds lasting knowledge through WASH training and nutrition workshops — with Texas Instruments employee volunteers working alongside communities to strengthen resilience, foster connection, and ensure that what is built today is owned and sustained for the long term.
