The Need

Electricity-related industries face a shortage of skilled workers, limiting their ability to meet growing demand for technical expertise. At the same time, many young people—particularly those seeking stable employment—lack access to industry-relevant training and clear pathways into the electrical sector. This gap is further widened by the misalignment between existing training programs and labor market needs, including both technical competencies and essential workplace skills. As a result, youth remain underserved, and industries continue to face challenges in sourcing qualified talent.

The Intervention

emPOWER II delivers a workforce development initiative that combines technical training with employability skills. It works with training institutions and industry partners to align curricula with industry needs and provide hands-on learning opportunities. The project also connects participants to job opportunities and industry networks, supporting their transition into sustainable careers in the electrical sector.
