Our Story
ASSIST was established in 2003 as a three-person NGO in the Philippines. From there, we have expanded through the rest of the region of Southeast Asia. For more than two decades, our organization has worked alongside communities, governments, and the private sector across Asia to turn shared goals into measurable impact

Across Asia, food systems are under pressure from climate change, land degradation, and resource scarcity—threatening the livelihoods and food security of millions. Alongside Despite this, Southeast Asia’s food security is also threatened primarily by outdated practices, inadequate agricultural infrastructures and resources, and supply chain disruptions.
At ASSIST, we believe that empowering food producers and cultivators are at the heart of building a more secure and sustainable future. Empowering farmers, fishers, and agri-entrepreneurs, improving resource management, and promoting sustainable value chains are critical steps towards ensuring stable and inclusive food systems. We go beyond short-term aid to strengthen sustainable value chains and market-driven solutions that create lasting change—from the fields to the coasts.
Our programs supportspan across the fields to the coasts, supporting key subsectors such as corn, coconut, onion, coffee, pepper, cacao, livestock, and aquaculture. Our implementation addresses climate-smart practices, market access, financial literacy, and integration of the youth into the sector through education and technology.
