The Philippines stands at the cusp of a major shift towards a green economy — one projected to generate over 5 million new jobs across construction, energy, transport, agriculture, and engineering. But to seize that opportunity, the workforce needs green skills that most Technical-Vocational Institutions (TVIs) aren’t equipped to do so. The result is a widening gap: employers struggle to find qualified talent, and graduating youth are missing out on the fastest-growing segment of the labor market.

Without targeted intervention at the curriculum and instructor level, this gap will only deepen — leaving Filipino workers, and individuals who are seeking employment playing catch-up instead of staying ahead of the curve. It is also seen that due to limited coordination between training institutions, employers, and local government employment offices is further restricting access to opportunities across the green skill domain.

What we are solving

Organizations across sectors face growing challenges in managing training and learning for diverse groups — employees, members, beneficiaries, and partners — often lacking accessible, affordable, and adaptable tools to deliver impactful learning at scale. Many training systems are costly, technically complex, or too rigid to meet the varied needs of dynamic ecosystems such as NGOs, cooperatives, and social enterprises. Without an intuitive and scalable learning management solution, organizations struggle to upskill their teams, engage their communities, and align their partners effectively. ASSIST-Ed LMS was developed to bridge this gap by providing a purpose-built platform that simplifies learning management while maximizing organizational impact.

ASSIST-Ed implemented a comprehensive learning management system (LMS) designed to be accessible, affordable, and adaptable across organizational contexts. The platform supports four key learner groups — employees, members, beneficiaries, and partners — through customizable learning paths tailored to specific roles and needs.

Key features include multi-format learning support, mobile accessibility for anytime, anywhere learning even offline, gamification tools such as badges and leaderboards to drive engagement, and automated certifications and notifications to keep learners on track. Data reporting tools enable organizations to monitor progress and evaluate training effectiveness with ease. These combined features strengthened organizational capacity for learning delivery while ensuring a seamless, low-maintenance experience for both administrators and learners.
