The Need

The coconut is more than a crop — it is the backbone of Philippine agriculture and a symbol of the country’s global strength. Once the world’s top exporter of coconut oil, the Philippines built its reputation on the resilience and productivity of its coconut farmers. Yet declining production in key regions like Sarangani Province now threatens to erode that legacy, leaving farmers with shrinking harvests and dwindling incomes — and the broader industry at risk of losing its competitive edge.

The Intervention

To address these challenges, CocoGrow integrates farmer capacity development, agricultural modernization, and inclusive business support. It introduces high-yielding coconut varieties and modern farming practices, strengthens cooperatives and financial management skills, and connects farmers to policy development and market opportunities — fostering collaboration among stakeholders and building a more resilient, productive coconut sector in Sarangani Province.
